According to the Alto Alentejo Sub-Regional Emergency and Civil Protection Authority, the fire alarm raging in the Abegoa area, in the district of Santo António das Areias, was filed at 15:55.
Lusa was contacted by the second commander of the sub-regional civil protection command of Alto Alentejo, João Vas, who stressed that despite the difficulties in accessing the places where the flames were burning, the firefighters “were effective” in putting out the fires.
