This Thursday, the third victim of the explosion that occurred last Monday, August 14, at a cotton factory in Vila Verde, died. This is José Martins, 45, born in Pico Cristovan and living in Vilarinho.
The man had been in the hospital since the day of the incident and was unable to resist due to the severity of his injuries.
The explosion also started a fire, which was put out by the fire brigades of Vila Verde, Esposende and Amares. The other two dead are Adelino Oliveira, 60, and António Silva, 27.
A total of 65 operators were on site with the support of 24 vehicles and air transport, according to the National Emergency Management and Civil Protection Administration (ANEPC) website.
