The 51-year-old driver was arrested by GNR de Oliveira do Bairro last Saturday morning for trying to bribe security guards with 150 euros after he tested his blood alcohol level above the minimum allowed by law.
Following the steps of the PPP, the man was notified that he was due to appear in court this Monday morning on suspicion of drunk driving and active corruption.
At around 3 am, a PPP patrol approached the car in which the detainee was traveling on Rua Padre António Gonçalves Pereira in Oliveira do Bairro. After testing for alcohol, the man was taken to the post to perform the necessary actions. It was at this time that the detainee tried to persuade the guards to get away from the fine.
