The official, who spoke to reporters after the signing of a memorandum of understanding in Valença between INEM and its Spanish counterpart AXEGA, said the process of establishing the first emergency medical service between Portugal and Spain “does not exclude” anyone.
“Neither firefighters, nor other actors, even guaranteeing that assistance is always at its best, not with firefighters, not with INEM, not with healthcare actors who are included in this response,” he said.
Luis Meira, who responded to complaints made on Tuesday by the Viana do Castelo Firefighters’ Federation that they were “not taken into account in the slightest degree in the negotiation process”, said that “the first meeting of the working group will take place next month. a place to be created, with actors from both countries.”
