The government announced this Friday that it will keep fuel support unchanged.
“Given the dynamics of fuel prices in August, the government is keeping the tax cut unchanged,” the chief executive, led by António Costa, said in a statement sent to the editorial office.
“Taking into account all the existing measures, the tax reduction is 23 cents per liter of diesel fuel and 25 cents per liter of gasoline,” the government said.
The current ISP rebate means “discount of 13.1 cents per liter of diesel fuel and 15.3 cents per liter of gasoline.”
“The measures taken aim to combine support for families with environmental objectives as part of the gradual balancing of the weight of fuel taxes in Portugal with the eurozone average,” the government said.
