Portugal also proposed “a European double transition worker conversion program, a European fire management and response framework, a rural digital law for the modernization of the agricultural sector, and a European strategy for advanced computing,” the website says. the note.
“Despite the need to concentrate efforts to complete several open legislative files before the European Parliament elections in 2024, there are some urgent areas that, from the point of view of Portugal, require a coordinated European effort to strengthen the European Union as a prosperous, modern and secure home for its citizens,” emphasizes the leader headed by António Costa.
The government also writes that these priorities “are the result of consultations with various industry sectors, social partners and other civil society stakeholders.”
“As in 2022, this initiative allows Portugal to actively participate in planning the legislative agenda of the European Commission for the next year,” the note added.
