The Public Security Police (PSP) have detained a 35-year-old man on suspicion of coercion and insulting the physical integrity of an official in the arrivals area of the Humberto Delgado airport in Lisbon.
“The presence of a citizen associated with several thefts committed in this premises has been detected, it is important to approach him and understand the reason for his presence. At the moments when a suspect appears (also known in this place for theft), trying to help another man avoid the approach of the police, force him release and try to attack the intervening police,” the PSP said in a communiqué.
The agent was assisted by a citizen, which allowed the suspect to be detained until support arrived.
The man has been found guilty and will await sentencing on issues of identity and residence at Lisbon’s local criminal authority.
