The government wants to survey damages in municipalities hit by bad weather before the end of the year to “develop support as quickly as possible,” the presidency’s minister announced this Wednesday.
“The bottom line is to ensure that the Council of Ministers decides to recognize the seriousness of what happened here and determine all the support. This is what we’ll do and once we get the damage [contabilizados] we will make these decisions,” Mariana Vieira da Silva said in statements to journalists after visiting the most affected areas of the municipality of Loures by floods on Wednesday last week and this Tuesday.
Accompanied by Loures’ mayor, socialist Ricardo Leão, the official promised: “We will try to get support as quickly as possible.”
