The ban on swimming at Algodio beach in Mafra was lifted this Saturday on the recommendation of the Regional Health Directorate, following a new analysis of water quality by the Portuguese Environment Agency (APA).
In a statement, the National Maritime Administration (NAM) said the APA said the result of the analysis indicated that the microbiological indicators “were within the quality standards.”
Taking into account the test results and in accordance with the instructions of the Regional Health Directorate of Lisbon and Vale do Tejo, the ban on swimming on this beach was lifted and instructions were given to raise the green flag on the beach again. we read too.
Algodio and Foz do Lizandro beaches in Ericeira were closed to swimming on Wednesday due to water contamination, with APA reporting that “microbiological values exceeded control parameters, making the water unsuitable for swimming.”
As a result, a red flag was raised on two beaches in Lisbon County.
At the beginning of August, Praia dos Pescadores, located next to the old town of Ericeira, was closed to swimming for four days for the same reasons.
