The United States of America (US) House of Representatives announced on Tuesday that it intends to launch an impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden. The lawsuit was filed by Republican leader Kevin McCarthy.
According to McCarthy, quoted CNN International, the investigation will focus on allegations of abuse of power, obstruction and corruption.
According to North American television, Biden has been under investigation since January.
“I am asking the House Committee to open a formal impeachment investigation,” the congressman said, alleging Biden “lied” to the American people about his son’s controversial foreign business dealings.
Hunter Biden, the 50-year-old son of the Democratic president, has become a favorite target of the American right, which accuses him, among other things, of making questionable deals in Ukraine and China while Joe Biden was Barack Obama’s vice president (2009–2017), taking advantage of networks of knowledge and the name of his father.
