Chega wants to analyze “all documentation” about the TAR privatization process

Chega addressed this Wednesday the Assembly of the Republic asking the Ministry of Infrastructure to hand over “all the documentation on the privatization dossier of TAP”, said party president André Ventura.

“At the moment we do not know whether TAP will be privatized, to which consortium it will be privatized, which members belong to this consortium and, most importantly, whether the ‘hub’ will remain in Lisbon or if it will move to Madrid,” he said.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of Chegi’s campaign for Sunday’s elections in Madeira’s Camara de Lobos, Andre Ventura said the possibility of the hub being handed over to Spain was “regrettable” and that Prime Minister António Costa had acknowledged full privatization TAP on Tuesday in parliament during a debate on a motion of no confidence in the government.

Ventura said Chega had asked the Assembly of the Republic to provide the government, “as a matter of utmost urgency,” with all documentation related to the TAR privatization process by the end of the week.

On Tuesday, the Prime Minister raised the possibility of privatizing the entire capital of TAP, among various scenarios, although the amount has not yet been determined and will depend on the chosen partner.

Responding to Bloc de Esquerda parliamentary leader Pedro Filipe Soares during the debate over Chega’s vote of no confidence in the government, Costa said the amount of TAP that will be privatized “will definitely change” depending on the private partner that will be privatized. selected.

“Contrary to what you say, we are not going to sell to any individual. We will only privatize and sell part or all of the capital, taking into account the protection of the interests of the company, Portugal and the Portuguese.” , He said.
