The suspect in the head-butting shooting of a young man outside a nightclub in Feira denies any involvement in the murder.

A 26-year-old man is being tried in a Feira court on suspicion of having fired a firearm in the head of a 22-year-old man outside a nightclub in Feira for reasons of passion. He denied being the shooter.

The defendant assured the jury that the only shot was fired from a car in which five hooded men were riding. According to the suspect, this car appeared at the scene completely unexpectedly. The man also stated that the weapon he had in his possession that morning was counterfeit. However, this weapon was never found.

It all happened around 7 o’clock in the morning. According to the prosecutor’s indictment, two men argued at a nightclub over romantic messages the defendant sent to the victim’s girlfriend. When the rivals left the club, according to the prosecution, the suspect took a firearm from his shorts pocket and shot the young man from a distance of one to two meters.

The accused fled the scene towards Gondomar but was eventually apprehended by the Porto Judicial Police. The victim independently went to the PSP police station in Ovar. She was then taken to Feyre’s hospital.

The defendant is charged with attempted aggravated murder, possession of a prohibited weapon and driving without a valid license.
