The government reduces VAT revenues from fuel prices

This week the government will reintroduce a mechanism to allow increases in VAT receipts resulting from price increases to be deducted from the ISP. According to CM According to an official source, the return order is due to be published this Monday and will take effect immediately.

Prices for February 2022, the month in which this measure was first introduced, can be used as reference. The result is a reduction in ISP of 2 cents per liter for diesel and 1 cent per liter for gasoline.

Compared to what was initially announced by petrol stations, this means a reduction in the price of diesel by three cents per liter and the reversal of a one cent increase in petrol prices.

The government says fuel consumption in the first eight months of 2023 reached a decade high.

Let us recall that on Friday the SDP proposed introducing an automatic weekly update mechanism.
