Former Prime Minister Boris Johnson won around €250,000 from Media Capital, the owner of TVI and CNN Portugal, to attend the CNN Global Summit in Lisbon in November.
According to the documents to which cm Having gained access, Boris set off accompanied by two advisers. The 8-hour trip to the capital included transport, meals and accommodation. American journalist Bob Woodward, one of the debunkers of the Watergate scandal, will win 100,000 euros for speaking at the same event.
In total, former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has received more than a million euros for appearances around the world since leaving Downing Street, in defiance of British code of conduct that requires him to wait three months before accepting renumbered assignments.
Boris Johnson stepped down as prime minister in early September after months of scandal during the Covid-19 pandemic.
