Montenegro ‘fully satisfied’ with PAN agreement in Madeira

The PSD president said this Wednesday that he is “completely satisfied” with the parliamentary agreement reached between PSD-Madeira and PAN, saying that this understanding does not violate any “values or principles” of the Social Democrats.

Luis Montenegro, at a press conference at the party’s national headquarters at the end of meetings with trade unions and associations in the field of education, asked about the agreement on parliamentary influence signed in Madeira and emphasized that the autonomy of the autonomous regions is provided for by the Constitution, the political-administrative statute and even party charter.

“The national leader of the PSD is completely satisfied with the solution, which ensures the conditions of governance in Madeira. If one day a problem arises in the context of legislative elections, we will take the responsibility that we must take,” he said.

Despite confirming that this agreement was signed between PSD-Madeira and PAN, Montenegro said that “it does not contradict any PSD values or principles”, nor the party’s support for farmers, “the rural world and its values.” .

The PSD leader rejected that the agreement meant burning bridges on the right and, when asked about IL’s role, said “the door is not closed” for the party in Madeira after the Liberals showed themselves ready for dialogue “on a case-by-case basis.” . , budget after budget.”

“The relationship between two political forces in a national context does not necessarily have to be the relationship in a regional context, everything is different,” he said.

Montenegro said it was following developments in the Madeira trial “with the utmost care” and upheld the guilty verdict.

“It will be very clear that we have the conditions to have a stable government and legislature,” he said.
