Internal opposition PAN claims the Madeira agreement was signed in an “abusive manner” and was “prepared behind closed doors.”

National leaders of the PAN, critical of the current leadership, considered this Wednesday that the agreement on parliamentary propaganda in Madeira was “prepared behind closed doors” and signed in an “offensive manner”, violating the party’s statutes, and claim that it is “very unambitious”.

Seven members of the National Political Commission for People-Animals-Nature of the internal movement “More PAN, Act of Renewal” signed a statement published this Wednesday in which they point out a number of criticisms of the parliamentary protection agreement signed between PAN and PSD on Madeira is called upon to guarantee government stability in the region after regional elections on Sunday.

Nelson Silva, Maria João Sakadura, Ruy Alvarenga, Alexandra Miguel, Fernando Geraçao, Sandra Enteiriso and Fernando Rodríguez highlight the MPA’s “good result” in the legislature with the election of a deputy and believe that this “strengthens the party’s undeniable national reach.” “, but note that this agreement raises “many doubts regarding the real role and relevance of the PAN in the parliamentary system of Madeira.”

The PAN political commissars criticize the agreement “prepared behind closed doors with the participation of half a dozen associates of the PAN national representative, who thus abuse the fact that, since they were not authorized to do so by the competent authorities, they bind the PAN to this agreement.” .

“The PAN National Political Commission, the body empowered by law to approve political agreements, was not convened to discuss and discuss the Madeira-PAN PSD/CDS agreement (nor was the Madeira Regional Political Commission!). This violation of the law (which has already become a habit) again reveals the autocratic and arbitrary way of controlling the destinies of the party,” they criticize.

The leaders, who presented themselves at the last congress on a list rivaling that of current leader Ines de Sousa Real, also state that it is “regrettable” that the national political commissars “learned about an issue of such urgency through the media” and the PAN’s highest political decision-making body between congresses will discuss the issue only “one day after the agreement is publicly presented,” and the meeting is scheduled for this evening.

According to these critics, the agreement in the Autonomous Region of Madeira is “limited in its environmental and social scope and imprecise in its commitments” and “very unambitious in terms of protecting the ecology of the archipelago and investing in social policies for the society of Madeira and Porto.” Sunsense.

“We therefore conclude that the PAN specifications are being sold at a favorable price,” they argue.

Leaders of the internal movement “No More PAN, Act of Renewal” also believe that “the agreement is the lifeline of a cronyistic, opaque regional government, conservative with regard to the regional “status quo”, and does not reflect a genuine desire for change in Madeirans and Porto Santens.”

Pointing out that such an understanding is “more beneficial to the regional government than the IPA,” the seven critics claim that “there is no structural measure, only what, while important, can be seen as individual and cyclical “small measures.”

“The MHP cannot deceive the citizens who voted for it, because they voted for an autonomous and independent MHP, and not for a party designed to promote parliamentary agreements to save other political forces,” they emphasize.

These leaders also criticize the “dismissal from television by an unauthorized person” of PAN/Madeira regional representative Joaquim Souza.

The PSD/CDU-PP coalition won the regional legislatures on Sunday but fell one MP short of an absolute majority, with a four-year parliamentary advocacy agreement announced on Tuesday with PAN, which won the mandate.

In Sunday’s elections, the PSD/CDU-PP coalition elected 23 MPs, the IPS 11, the PPP five and Chega four, while the CDU (PCP/PEV), BE, PAN and IL each elected one MP.
