The Madeiran centrist leader, who ranks second on the Somos Madeira coalition list, played down dissatisfaction expressed by party president Nuno Melo over the choice of PAN over the Liberal Initiative.
Speaking to Lusa on Tuesday evening, Nuno Melo said the decision “is the result of an agreement between PSD/Madeira and the MND, in which the PSD did not participate,” which was “the agreement of the regional government president” Miguel. Albuquerque.

The PSD/CDU-NP coalition won regional legislatures on Sunday but fell one MP short of an absolute majority, and a parliamentary advocacy agreement with the MHP was announced on Tuesday that won the mandate.
In Sunday’s elections, the PSD/CDU-PP coalition elected 23 MPs, the IPS 11, the PPP five and Chega four, while the CDU (PCP/PEV), BE, PAN and IL each elected one MP.
