Cavaco Silva warned António Costa that the prime minister “never wins” by being in conflict with the president of the republic in an interview with the publication observer published this Friday.
The former head of state recalls the “deep political differences” he has with the prime minister and regrets that the government approved the Mais housing program after the veto of Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa.
Continuing his criticism of António Costa, the former President of the Republic stressed that António Costa’s silence during the last meeting of the Council of Ministers was “abnormal”.
Interior Minister José Luis Carneiro received praise from Cavaco Silva, who considers him a “man of common sense.” On the contrary, the former head of state expressed surprise at the continuation of João Galamba’s tenure as head of infrastructure.
“We must be careful with lies” because “lies corrode,” he said as a warning to “ministers and the prime minister.”
