Two of the four workers who suffered serious burns in an accident at the Navigator paper mill in Figueira da Foz died in hospital this weekend.
Paulo Bandeira, 56, and his son Joao Bandeira, 31, were injured by the high-temperature chemical, as were two other workers. Following the accident, Paulo Bandeira was admitted to the Hospital and University Center of Coimbra, while his son was taken to a hospital in Porto.
The accident occurred on Tuesday and was caused by a chemical leak from a pipe. One of the victims was airlifted by helicopter. Father and son lived in the village of Bendafe, in Condeixa a Nova.
