The mother of Andrea Rocha, a young woman involved in a brutal car accident in April 2008, believes that “justice has been done and Audi has been convicted.”
The Supreme Court ordered Audi AG to pay compensation in the amount of 200 thousand euros because the airbags of the Audi A3 did not deploy at the time of the collision.
After an accident on the road connecting Fogeteiro (Seixal) and Sesimbra, the young woman, then 23 years old, suffered serious injuries that left her disabled for the rest of her life, and today she lives dependent on the support of others.
The mother, Eduarda Farias, says her daughter was saved by her seat belt. But, he adds, “if the airbags had not deployed, Andrea would not have suffered a traumatic brain injury.”
Eduarda Farias then appealed to the court. Fifteen years after the accident, the mother emphasizes that “the treatment provided far exceeds 200 thousand euros in compensation.”
