An earthquake measuring 3.7 on the Richter scale was felt on Tuesday on the island of Faial in the Azores, the Azores Center for Seismic Volcanic Information and Observation (CIVISA) said.
According to CIVISA, the earthquake was recorded at 18:14 local time (19:14 in Lisbon) and had an epicenter approximately 39 kilometers west of Capelo, on the island of Faial.
“According to the information currently available, the earthquake was felt at maximum intensity III (Modified Mercalli Scale) in the parishes of Capelo, Castelo Branco, Feteira and Praia do Norte (Municipality of Horta, Faial Island),” the report said. .
