PR says it hopes ‘conversation paths’ between government and doctors ‘will be successful’

The President of the Republic said today that he hopes that the “negotiations” between the government and the Order of Physicians “will be successful.”

“I hope these conversations will be successful,” Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa told Vila Nova de Gaia, Porto district, when asked about the announcement of the closure of emergency services and services at several hospitals.

Upon arriving at the dinner before the meeting of the “Grupo de Arraiolos”, which will bring together 14 non-executive heads of state from Europe, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa said that he was monitoring the situation in the health sector: “I have already told the Minister, I have already spoken to the President of the Order of Doctors “I know they met, and I know the president came away thinking there were ways to talk,” he said.

On Wednesday, the president of the Order of Physicians said after a meeting with the health minister that the government was open to resuming negotiations on issues that had been closed, namely the establishment of a 35-hour week.

After leaving the meeting held at his request, Carlos Cortes also noted that the Ministry of Health is open to questions related to medical careers, and added that many of the issues discussed today require a written commitment of guardianship by the end of next month. .
