Lisbon Mayor Carlos Moedas declined to comment on António Costa’s failure to call him during the floods in the capital and said “it’s important for democracy not to create specific cases of who calls and who doesn’t” since Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa got in touch and was walking around Lisbon on the night of the incidents.
Moedas also expressed special gratitude to the President of the Republic for being “present for and with the people of Lisbon from the very beginning.”
The Social Democrat told the people of Lisbon that they have a website where they can post information about the damage suffered during the flood so that they can get help and compensation.
António Costa previously mentioned that the mayor didn’t call him when “the house was flooded.”
