The woman was pulled lifeless from the sea on a beach in the municipality of Figueira da Foz on Thursday afternoon, according to a marine police source in that city.

“The body was discovered by a surfer at 15:00. It appeared to have been made recently as there were no signs of stiffness or degradation. He was wearing trousers and a Lycra top and appeared to be out for some exercise,” he added.
Servaens Costa told Lusa that after forces were called to the scene, the woman’s body was picked up on the sand by a jet ski from the Figueira da Foz lifeguard station and subsequently taken to the Institute of Forensic Medicine.
The Maritime Police of Figueira da Foz “took measures to establish the identity of the man and, since it was a death, the incident was reported to the prosecutor’s office.”
