PSP arrested two men for domestic violence against their mother and grandmother. The first, 21, was arrested in Setúbal after police were called to resolve a “family dispute.” The 65-year-old woman showed signs of violence, and when confronted by agents, the young man confirmed the attack. But when he was informed that he would be detained, he tried to hit the police. Present at the Setúbal court, he was eventually released with an identity card and residence permit.
In Estoril, Cascais, PSP detained another man, 37 years old, caught after warning the victim. He was caught in the act breaking down the door of his mother’s house, demanding that she hand over money. According to PSP, the attacker repeated attacks on his mother whenever he needed money for alcohol and drugs. He was arrested and taken to the Cascais court. who ordered preventive detention.
