Faro Children’s Emergency Service is closed from 9am this Saturday. The closure will last until 9pm on Sunday. The problem is there aren’t enough doctors to fill the registries.
Management advised that users should be referred to the nearest emergency service or to the Portimão Hospital Department’s Pediatric Emergency Service. ABOUT CM You know that the latter will stop accepting children from 21:00 Sunday to 9:00 Monday.
This is one of several difficulties faced by children in the country. In Leiria, pediatric emergency departments are only open during the day, as are those in Torres Vedras, Loures (they close completely on weekends), San Francisco Xavier, Almada and Amadora Sintra. In Torres Novas and Barreiro they are closed until Monday.
