The remains of Ruth Peretz, a 17-year-old girl who disappeared along with her father during the Gaza music festival massacre on October 7, have been recovered by Israeli security forces.
Ruth suffered from muscular dystrophy and cerebral palsy. A young woman’s wheelchair was found near the Gaza border days after the massacre, leading family members to believe Ruth and her father were taken hostage by Hamas.
The bodies were discovered by authorities on October 18.
“Ruth had difficulty eating normally and was dependent on a feeding tube. She is disabled and paralyzed. She communicates only in basic words that her family understands,” wrote doctor Ilan Rabinovich. “Eric took Ruth to these parties for years because they made her feel good,” he added.
“Ruth Peretz loved going to music festivals. Because she had cerebral palsy, her father Eric took her to enjoy music at the Nova Music Festival. This was reason enough for Hamas to kill them,” Israeli security forces said on Instagram.
