Kyiv was hit by airstrikes 52 days later

The Ukrainian capital Kyiv was again the target of Russian airstrikes on Saturday morning for the first time in nearly two months. “After a long break of 52 days, the enemy resumed missile attacks on Kyiv. The missile did not reach Kiev because air defense systems shot it down on approach to the capital,” said the head of the Kiev military administration, Sergei Popko. Two strong explosions were heard after the Russian ballistic missiles were fired. Although several warning calls were made to the authorities, there were no reports of casualties reported. However, the mayor of Kiev Vitaliy Klitschko called on residents of the capital to take shelter in bomb shelters. The Ukrainian Armed Forces also reported attacks on other regions of the country, including Odessa, Kharkov, Poltava, Sumy, Kirovograd and Dnepropetrovsk. According to the Ukrainian army, more than 30 unmanned aerial vehicles were shot down devices, including missiles and drones. The last time Kiev was attacked was on September 21. On that day, Ukrainian air defenses shot down a Russian missile, and falling debris injured seven people.
