The Spanish parliament will debate and vote on the re-election of socialist Pedro Sánchez as prime minister on Wednesday and Thursday this week, the president of the Congress of Deputies, Francine Armanegol, said this Monday.
Last week, Sánchez negotiated parliamentary agreements that will make Spain’s new left-wing government viable from the outset following legislative elections on July 23.
Thanks to the agreements he has reached, Sánchez is preparing to lead a left-wing coalition government formed by the Spanish Socialist Party (PSOE) and Somar and made possible in parliament by six more regionalist, nationalist and independence parties from the Canary Islands, Catalonia and Galicia and the Basque Country.
