European far-right parties will arrive in Lisbon for a meeting organized by Identity and Democracy

Several leaders of Europe’s far-right parties will be in Lisbon from Thursday to Friday to attend a meeting of the Identity and Democracy (ID) political family, including France’s Marine Le Pen.

According to information released by the Chega party, a dinner is planned for this Thursday with party president Andre Ventura, leader of the National Union and member of the French National Assembly Thibaut Francois and MEP Suzanne Ceccardi (elected by the Italian party). League) and Maximilian Kra (Alternative for Germany).

A public meeting will take place on Friday at the Convento do Beato in Lisbon with the participation and participation of Marine Le Pen, Belgian MEP Gerolf Annemans, elected by the far-right Flemish party Vlaams Belang, Martin Helme, leader of the Estonian party. the right-wing nationalist party EKRE, from the Czech Tomio Okamura, from Freedom and Direct Democracy, from Tino Chrupalla, from the Alternative for Germany, as well as from the Austrian MEP Harald Vilimsky.

Party President Andre Ventura and MP Rita Matias will be present from Chegi’s side.

According to ID’s post on the social network X (formerly Twitter), the meeting, which will take place on Friday in Lisbon, will be dedicated to the theme “Towards a Europe of cooperation.”

Previously, on Friday morning, the leader of Chegi will meet with the leader of the French far right, Marine Le Pen, and a joint press conference is planned at the Assembly of the Republic.

Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Andre Ventura noted that the press conference would discuss “multiple issues, but above all European issues.”
