Over the next few days, lawmakers will debate and vote on more than 1,900 proposed changes to the budget, a new record.
The parliamentary leader of the PS noted that his panel would approve proposals “from different parties, naturally excluding the party of the extreme right, which is an anti-democratic system,” referring to Chegu, and stressed that the socialists have drawn “a red line that will reach the end of this legislative assembly “
Eurico Brillante Diaz noted that these are “proposals of various dimensions, from public administration to the organization of public services, some things in the field of health, the work of state-owned companies.”

The Socialist MP said that the Socialist Party wants to “continue the dialogue of the majority in this difficult political moment, without losing responsibility for correct reports, with public reports that must be correct to guarantee the sustainability of the welfare state, health and education, social benefits” .
“This is a majority that was guided by the fact that it is another majority in dialogue with the opposition, and this Thursday we will take another step along this path,” he emphasized, noting that in the budgets for 2022 and 2023, the PS approved “more 60 proposals from the opposition.”
