The man was placed in preventive detention after the GNR detained him on suspicion of domestic violence against his ex-partner in Santa Cruz, in the municipality of Torres Vedras, the GNR announced this Thursday.
A GNR source told Lusa that the police received a complaint on Monday and went to a restaurant in the Santa Cruz area, where they stopped attacks that began on a public road.
The attacks followed a domestic violence situation in which a 36-year-old man attacked his 29-year-old ex-partner and a 54-year-old man, her current partner, using a weapon.
The victims required medical attention and were taken to the hospital.
The suspect was arrested and the gun found on the street was confiscated in a domestic violence case that had already received complaints, according to the same source.
The alleged attacker was brought before the criminal investigation judge of the Loures Judicial Court on Wednesday and was subject to preventive detention.
