PJ arrested two suspects in the armed robbery of three young men in Famalicana

The Judicial Police (PJ) have arrested two suspects in three crimes related to aggravated robberies that occurred in September and October in the parishes of Recian and Gavian in Vila Nova de Famalicão, the police announced this Friday.

In the statement, the SP said the first robbery took place on the night of September 13 in Requiao, when the suspects used firearms and fired a shot to steal money and goods from two young men who were in a car.

The second situation occurred on October 29 in Gaviana, when a young man was returning home on foot and was approached by a man who identified himself as a police officer and pointed a firearm at him, robbing him of his personal property.

After the robbery, the young man was attacked by that and another man.

“After a series of investigative actions, it was possible to establish a connection between the criminal events and identify the suspects – residents of Braga,” the statement said, adding that the arrest took place on Thursday.

The suspects, aged 21 and 29, have previous convictions for crimes of the same nature, with the oldest being released in August last year after serving a sentence in prison.

The detainees were brought before the court, which imposed preventive detention on them, the most serious of coercive measures.
