For the passengers, the journey was far from over: they arrived in Lajes only on Sunday evening.

As TAP explained, on Saturday “the first flight was due to return to Lisbon, passengers disembarked and were offered food.” A second flight then took off, but “had to head to Ponta Delgada” where it refueled. After this, since he was unable to land at Lajes, he returned to Lisbon.
