Ditza Heyman, 84, has been reunited with her family after more than 50 days in captivity in the Gaza Strip. The elderly woman was one of the hostages released by Hamas under a humanitarian truce agreement.
The woman was captured at Kibbutz Nir Oz, where she lived, on the day the Islamic group launched its attack on Israel, October 7. I was alone at the moment.
The woman has seven children, 20 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
On the day of Ditsa’s abduction, Shdayma called her stepmother and answered someone who spoke Arabic. On October 9, the family found a video posted by Hamas on social media showing an elderly woman’s home and her getting into a car.
According to his stepson, Ditsa is a strong and independent person, but due to his age, he walks with a cane and takes several medications.
