Newspaper A GAME wrote this Wednesday in a statement that they view with “utter apprehension and pain at the Global Media Group’s statement in which they are planning a collective dismissal.”
It is explained that the administration only mentioned that the dismissal was a “hypothesis”, despite the fact that “there are specific numbers in three areas (JN, TFS and general services) and an “undetermined” number for A GAME”.
They question the administration about the paper’s plan and strategy, given that they have balanced accounts and a high online audience. “How is it that, having lost up to 200 people, they are going to put newspapers on newsstands, keep radio on the air and compete for an online audience? And this is despite the quality and reliability that characterize all publications in this group,” the message says.
They also question what guarantees there are that the company will pay the Christmas subsidy as well as “salaries on time, after guaranteeing in October that delays would not be repeated.”
Finally, they emphasize solidarity with the two-day strike called Newspaper. They also call on “all brands to come together and accelerate joint and coordinated action.”
“We spent countless working days around the world with each person providing information in a unique and indispensable way,” they add.
