The Secretary of State for Infrastructure said this Thursday that airport concessionaire ANA should not decide what investments to make in the new airport and that there are mechanisms in the contract to allow the state to make the decision.
“It’s not up to the dealer” [ANA] decide what investments to make,” Secretary of State Frederico Francisco responded to reporters at the last press conference after a meeting of the Council of Ministers of this government after he was asked about statements made by the airport manager of the multinational company Vinci, who expressed his readiness to make all the necessary investments in the new airport in Montijo, but not in Alcochete.
The government official also added that the concession agreement contains mechanisms “to ensure that the grantor [Estado] and not a dealer [ANA) decida que investimentos é que têm de ser feitos”.
