The candidate for general secretary of the Socialist Party, Pedro Nuno Santos, voted for the party this Friday in São João da Madeira, where he is from.
“The PS will always count on me, no matter what role I play,” he assured, answering a question from journalists whether he was ready to become part of the party led by his rival José Luis Carneiro.
Pedro Nuno Santos was confident of victory in the party’s internal elections, the results of which will be known this Saturday, and in the legislative elections on March 10.
Although he is very proud of the legacy of António Costa, the party’s “model”, he believes it is time to close the stage and “make Portugal move forward”.
“Energy, new impulse, the desire to do something and solve problems” is the motto of the candidacy of Pedro Nuno Santos, who said his goal is to “ensure that the Portuguese people can live in better conditions.”
The candidate for Secretary General of the PS said that there are many problems that need to be solved, including in the field of public services, education and housing.
Pedro Nuno Santos was accompanied by his parents, who, he said, know that “he is an honest politician.”
