No trace has been found of a pregnant woman who disappeared in Mourtos after two days of searching the ground.

Two days of searching to no avail. They turned over the whole earth and again found nothing. Opening hours coordinated by the Judicial Police of Aveiro and there is still no evidence of the remains of Monica Silva, the 33-year-old pregnant woman who disappeared in Mourtos on the night of October 3 and whom investigators believe was murdered.

The area adjacent to the recently opened supermarket now has holes that remain open. The search of the property of the family of Fernando Valente – the main suspect in the crime – ended and GNR was relieved of providing security on site, but the perimeter tape remained. This is because there are signs that the area has now become dangerous.

Searches using excavators and tracking equipment were hampered by the ground being in the riverbed. When the soil was removed, the water rose, making it difficult to find the remains.

However, Sara Silva, Monica’s twin sister, took on a new role. He guarantees that Fernando Valente—Monica’s ex-boyfriend, who is in pretrial detention—bought the truckload of manure and that it could have been used to hide the corpse. “I ask you to tell us where the manure was placed so that we can search the place,” he said CM.
