“There are difficulties here with the formation of teams. Very serious difficulties. Not only does this maternity hospital not provide a response, but the number of ambulance teams is much lower than the number recommended by the Medical Association,” emphasized speaker Carlos Cortes. reporters after visiting the San Francisco Xavier Hospital in Lisbon, where he met with the board of directors and doctors.
“The Order of Physicians (…) wants to show that it wants to help solve problems. (…) I am a great advocate of the National Health Service (NHS) as the backbone of health care delivery in our country. And what the doctors have done in recent weeks (…) is to send an alarm to the Ministry of Health and the Executive Directorate to [o SNS] function properly,” he said.
