Balkan cartel sets up base in Portugal to run human trafficking business

The head of the Uros clan, one of the main factions of the Balkan Cartel (also known as the Serbian Mafia), was detained by judicial police in a house worth two million euros on the south bank of the Tagus. He was detained on the basis of a European arrest warrant issued by Austria, in an operation supported by Europol and the authorities of France, Serbia and Austria.

Two other members of the group, who were not attacked, were also arrested for drug possession.

The group repeatedly imported large quantities of cocaine originating from Latin America into the European continent, allegedly in partnership with Primeiro Comando da Capital (Brazil’s largest criminal organization) and other similar groups.

According to CM As it turned out, the leader ran a smuggling business from Portugal, although cocaine supplies did not always pass through our country.
