The General Inspectorate of Medical Activities (IGAS) has launched an investigation to determine the causes of the fire that broke out on Tuesday in the psychiatric ward of the Padre America Hospital in Penafiel, Porto district, it was announced this Thursday.
“We inform you that by order of December 27 [quarta-feira]On behalf of the Inspector General, an investigation has been launched to establish the facts surrounding the fire that broke out on the morning of December 26. [terça-feira] in the psychiatric department of the Padre América Hospital in Penafiel, part of the Tamega y Souza Hospital Center, EPE,” IGAS said in a statement.
The fire, which broke out at 8:02 a.m. Tuesday in the psychiatric ward of Padre America Hospital, injured three people, one user and two staff members, and mobilized more than three dozen first responders.
