A 54-year-old woman who was a victim of domestic violence recalled: “Over the course of a 20-year relationship, I made 14 complaints. And only when he threatened to kill me in front of representatives of the People’s Republic of Poland, after beating me at home, he was arrested.” The terror took place in the house where they lived in Lousada between 2001 and February 2023.
“It made me bleed. There was blood everywhere in the kitchen. It was 20 years of suffering. One day he beat me and dragged me out into the street by my hair, completely naked. He really was very cruel. Psychopath,” describes a woman who says he controlled her every move. “If I had gone to the grocery store longer, he would have said I was with lovers. I couldn’t talk to anyone and all my mobile phones were broken.”
Recently, the 55-year-old attacker was sentenced to 3 years and 7 months in prison suspended for 5 years. He was on preventative treatment, but was released. You are prohibited from approaching the victim at a distance of less than 500 meters. “He’s going to kill me. Go shoot me or send someone after him. I live full of fear. Just recently the panic button started beeping because he was very close to me,” he emphasized.
