A 39-year-old man was arrested by the PSP last Thursday on suspicion of the attempted murder of another 35-year-old man at the house where they both lived in Pareda, Cascais.
The victim, stabbed twice in the buttocks and lower back, was found “bloodied and running from a suspect on a public road who was holding a large knife in one hand” by a holiday department employee stationed at a nearby restaurant.
An injured man entered the restaurant and asked for help stopping the attacker.
According to the statement, “the police officer in question immediately went to the emergency department requesting medical and police assistance as the suspect was outside, who was quite upset and aggressive, throwing rocks at the building and also making threats.” . ..death to the victim.”
Moments later, the suspect fled down the street and was pursued and then intercepted by police.
The detainee was placed in preventive detention due to the risk of escaping across national borders and in order to attend the first judicial interrogation at the Western Lisbon Court in Cascais.
