Finance Minister Fernando Medina said this Saturday in his speech at the 24th PS Congress that the party has already realized that it faces a “tough battle ahead.” “We must give a firm answer, give specific answers,” he assured.
“We cannot afford to get lost. These last few years have been the greatest in terms of progress and growth, wages have risen in line with inflation, debt has been reduced, good policies have produced good results, these have been years of achievement for the Portuguese,” he argued.
Fernando Medina also said that “the economy is stronger, it is creating more jobs.”
“We pursued a defense policy. We increased pensions, financed our economy, we reduced the deficit and debt. We said we need more wages, jobs, a stronger and more resilient economy, and that’s what we did, we got the ideology on the right again.”
