The fire broke out after an explosion at the Monte Abraan parish house on Avenida Luis de Camões in Sintra on Saturday evening. The fire reportedly started in the attic of the rectory.
The Queluz Fire Department, Belas Fire Department and PSP were on scene, with a total of 24 first responders and eight vehicles.
The alarm was raised at 22:00, and around 00:00 everything was already over. No casualties were reported.
The cause of the accident is under investigation, but according to the Queluz fire chief, it is likely that the accident was caused by a gas cylinder located in the attic.
