The Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) this Sunday extended until Tuesday the yellow warning already announced for the islands of the western group of the Azores, due to forecasts of rough seas.
On the islands of Flores and Corvo, where due to sea waves (swells from the west moving to the northwest), a yellow warning was in effect from 05:00 local time (06:00 in Lisbon) this Sunday until 17:00. On Monday local time (18:00 in Lisbon), the warning was extended until Tuesday.
According to the IPMA, a yellow warning due to the forecast of rough seas (swells from the west temporarily moving to the northwest) is in effect from 19:19 local time (20:19 in Lisbon) Sunday until 19:00. a.m. local time (6:00 a.m. in Lisbon) on Tuesday.
A yellow warning, the least severe on a scale of three, is issued by IPMA whenever a risk situation arises for certain activities depending on the meteorological situation.
