The Health Secretary assured Parliament this Wednesday that no one will have to pay if they use National Health Service (SNS) services.
“All Portuguese citizens have access to social networks as always,” Manuel Pizarro told parliament during a health committee hearing following controversy over the loss of rights for residents abroad.
“No fees are charged to the citizen,” the minister emphasized, explaining that since the beginning of the year, “an attempt has been made to manage the national user registry in the best possible way.”
“This is an ongoing effort to find out whether people who don’t live here are using or not using social media,” and so far “without negative consequences.”
“They can’t find anyone who was billed by SNS,” he concluded.
