According to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA), eleven areas of the continent are under a yellow warning this Monday due to the forecast of sometimes heavy rain that may be accompanied by thunderstorms due to the effects of Depression Irene. .
According to the IPMA, the depression will affect the weather on the Portuguese mainland and the autonomous region of Madeira, with strong winds, heavy rain and rough seas until the end of the day on Wednesday.
Due to heavy rain, the areas of Coimbra, Guarda, Viseu, Aveiro, Bragança and Braga will be under a yellow warning until 9:00 this Monday, and in Lisbon, Santarem, Portalegre, Leiria and Castelo Branco until 15:00.
From this Tuesday, all areas of mainland Portugal will be under a yellow warning.
