Chegi President André Ventura will again lead the Lisbon party list in the next legislative elections with the aim of becoming the party with the most votes in the constituency.
“I, as party president, will lead Chega’s candidacy in Lisbon,” Andre Ventura said at a press conference at Chega’s headquarters in Lisbon.
The leader of Chegi set the goal of “conquering the Lisbon district” and “giving a political signal to the country about the need for change.”
Andre Ventura also announced that the first candidate for parliament in the Madeira constituency will be former PSD deputy Francisco Gomes.
“He was a PSD deputy for several years, moved to Chegu and will be our bet as Madeira’s candidate for the national legislature,” he said.
President Chegi also announced that former local candidate Miguel Arruda will head the list for the Azores.
“Member Chegi has been present in the region for a long time and has done a wonderful job for the Azores,” he said.
As for the heads of the lists of the remaining electoral districts, Andre Ventura said that they will be announced this week.
Ventura said the process is being closed by him and his National Council and that the remaining names will be announced “once the council meets and approves the applications.”
In the last legislative elections in 2022, Chega was the fourth party in terms of votes with 7.7% of the votes and four deputies, after the PS, SDP and IL.
